6 hours teaching time (not including preparation)
About the Project
Food Sharing runs Sustainable Cooking Workshops with community groups and students across Edinburgh. These Cooking Workshops teach three basic vegan recipes which can be adapted to incorporate any leftovers people have at home – saving waste and saving participants money! Cooking Workshops are run by a pair of Food Sharing volunteers.
About the Role
We are looking for a chef who can train Food Sharing volunteers to give them the confidence to run our Cooking Workshops. Volunteers will need to be trained in cooking the three recipes (a basic tomato sauce, stir fry and scone dough) and in workshop delivery skills. We will provide the recipes.
We are looking for someone who has chef experience and experience in teaching sustainable cooking classes or workshops. You will preferably be available for one evening on the week beginning 16/10, one evening the week beginning 23/10 and one evening the week beginning 30/10.
The role is paid at £75 for each 2 hour workshops. There will be 3 workshops.
It is desirable if you can provide kitchen space for you and 5 volunteers who you will be training. If this is not possible, we can work together to find an appropriate kitchen space.
